Not implementing Ground Rules (in your Freelancing Business) is like trying to Start a Car without putting the key in the ignition! And we are assuming your Car does need a key (obviously). What are Some Examples of Freelancing Ground Rules?
Set Your Hours and Stick to Them:
Freelancing is by no means a job (and we stand firm on this statement) but you totally (as a freelancer) need to set you freelancing hours to be exactly like a job! That’s right!!
You need to treat your Freelancing Business (and Ultimately Freelancing Career) like a job in order to Succeed Long Term. Again, we are not saying you need to bring a “Job Mentality” but set your hours (for example 8am to 5pm) and stick to them.

Set realistic hours that you can stick to not only now (at your age right now) but right up to you retire as a freelancer!

The C Word! That is C for “Communication.”Is Anything (and we are not just talking freelancing here now) more important?? We are Here to Tell you Absolutely Nothing!! If you do not Set Communication Ground Rules (within your Freelancing Business) then you will never ever succeed.
Setting Communication Ground Rules is by no means hard… We are talking specifically on how, why and when you are going to communicate with your Client’s on projects.
The How – How do you want to come across to Clients? Personal, Clear and Concise is a great starting point but ultimately adapt your own unique winning style.

The When – Quite often you will be juggling multiple projects and so the When (frequency of communication) is critical. Client updates at least once every 24 hours is a great starting point but remember… Set a frequency and stick to it!
